The delicate and ravishing taste of cinnamon is celebrated since Egyptian Era. It is known as the “immortal spice” because of its smooth and subtle flavours. The historian Diogo do Couto claims that Sri Lanka has been owning the record for the finest cinnamon since the age of king Parakramabahu ||(1236-1270).
Cinnamon has always been a symbol of wealth since the middle ages in Europe. The inability to find the finest of cinnamon has paved the trade wars among Portuguese, Dutch, French and English .They always fought for the Sri Lankan fine cinnamon that its jungles yielded because of its finest quality and splendid taste.
